25th November has been declared as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. Unfortunately, the number of women who have become victims of violence is increasing.
• 1 in 3 women will – at some point – experience physical, psychological, or sexual violence from their partner
• 40%-50% of women within the EU have reported some form of sexual harassment at work
• 500.000 to 2.000.000 people worldwide, mostly women & children, are trafficked each year for sexual exploitation and forced labor
• 130 million women and girls have undergone genital mutilation and 2 million girls per year are at risk of genital mutilation
• 55%-95% of female victims of domestic violence do not report the problem
Generation Y, having the majority of its workforce consisting of females, firmly supports women and their inalienable human rights. We all stand together against any form of violence against women. Do not hide in the shadows. Speak. We’re together in this.
